اِنَّمَا یَخۡشَی اللّٰهَ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِ الۡعُلَمٰٓؤُا ؕ Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge.(fatir 28)

قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ۗ Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?"

The first message of Islam to a Muslim is اِقْرَاْ Read, (Acquire knowledge). It is not possible to practice Islam properly without knowledge.
There are different levels and divisions of religious knowledge. One part is Fard Ain and Fard Kefaya. It is called Fard Ain, which is essential for every Muslim to learn. In particular, it has been said in the Hadith Shareef about this type of knowledge:
طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ.
Acquiring knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim. – Musnad Abu Hanifa (Haskafi), Hadith 1, 2; Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 224
Apart from this, knowledge teaches to fear Allah, enriches the storehouse of Islamic knowledge, makes the path to Paradise easy, and paves the way to get closer to Allah
